What to Expect From Cleveland Tree Service Pros
Cleveland Tree Service Pros takes down, prunes and grinds out trees for homeowners in Cleveland and the surrounding Cuyahoga County suburbs, from the West Park and Old Brooklyn side streets to the bungalow blocks and ravine lots on the East Side.
A job here begins with a walk around the yard. We look at the tree first: what species it is, whether the crown is thinning, where dead wood is hanging, how the trunk forks, and whether there is decay, fungus or a lean at the base. Then we look at everything the tree could land on. A lot of Cleveland houses sit a driveway's width from the next one, with a garage at the back and wires running down the side of the lot, so the route a climber, a chipper or a lift would take to reach the tree matters as much as the tree's height.
We also sort out ownership before anyone gives you a price. In Cleveland, the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the curb is a tree lawn, and the City lists tree lawns among its public planting areas. Pruning or removing a tree there needs a permit from the Division of Urban Forestry, and the City sets its own rules for who may do that work and how. If the tree you are worried about is in the tree lawn, we tell you so on the visit and point you to 311 or Urban Forestry, because that may be the City's job rather than yours. Limbs touching power lines go to the utility, either FirstEnergy's Illuminating Company or Cleveland Public Power depending on your street.
After the visit you receive a written quote. Each tree gets its own line: what will be done, how the wood and brush will be handled, whether the stump is included, and the price. You can approve one line and skip another. Nothing is cut until you say yes, and if we find something during the job that changes the work, we stop and agree on it with you before going on.
What to expect on the day
- Limbs over roofs, garages and fences lowered on ropes instead of dropped.
- Plywood or mats laid on soft lawns where equipment has to cross.
- Brush chipped on site; logs left in rounds, cut to length or hauled off as you chose.
- Driveways, walks and the street blown and raked clean before we leave.
- Storm calls sorted by danger: trees on houses and blocked doors come first.
